Manager, GHG Measurement and Target Setting - Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS)

Opportunity
EY is currently working across the capital markets globally with institutional investors, banking, private equity and insurance clients, developing strategies, designing and building innovative solutions to move forward on sustainable finance, meeting regulatory requirements and positioning for success in this rapidly evolving market.
You will join a team of over 3,000 climate change and sustainability practitioners globally, presenting a unique opportunity to make a real difference. We are seeking high performing Manager to join our Sustainable Finance team. You will be working on market-leading projects, building networks, and consulting on key strategic issues in sustainable finance. You will be responsible for the delivery of key projects to clients all whilst being supported by some of the best practitioners in the business.
There are a wide range of exciting projects that you will be able to get involved in, across banking, insurance, pensions, wealth and asset management and private equity. You will work with clients at all levels to help them navigate the ESG agenda.
Topics we cover in include:
- Sustainable finance and net zero strategies for financial services
- Greenhouse gas reporting, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and PCAF
- Climate change metrics and targets, including SBTi
- Sustainable Finance regulatory developments, such as SFDR and EU Taxonomy
- Responsible, sustainable and impact investment strategies and implementation
- Climate change risk modelling and scenario analysis
- Reporting and disclosure, including the application of TCFD, SASB and other frameworks
- Stewardship and engagement (active ownership)
- Assurance over ESG/climate metrics
Your Key Responsibilities
- You will support the CCaSS department in managing projects directly related to GHG emissions reporting/PCAF, SBTi requirements, FI portfolio temperature alignment, decarbonisation target setting/ net zero strategy setting.
- Working closely with other subject matter experts, you will drive the development of strategic GHG Measurement and Target Setting solutions, Go to Market material and thought leadership.
- You will work on business acquisition, which means winning in the market by bringing some of the most innovative projects to EY.
- You will support the creation of innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and lead the development of EY’s thought leadership on industry-leading sustainable finance topics.
- You will deliver operational efficiency on projects and lead on internal initiatives, consistently driving projects to completion making sure that the work delivered is industry leading.
- Working closely with colleagues at all levels (from interns to senior partners), you will create a positive learning culture and coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.
- You will contribute to the development of EY capabilities in technical areas and engage with clients regarding the application of these methodologies to their businesses.

Qualifications
We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, but are particularly interested in individuals that have the following qualifications:
Essential
- Track record of success from 5+ years of relevant experience in sustainability / ESG at a blue-chip firm, sustainability consultancy, investment firm or other relevant organisation.
- Or someone from energy/heavy industrial sector who has been deeply engaged in the decarbonisation space, hoping to move to a financial institution for a larger scale of impact and influence.
- Specifically demonstrated experience in GHG emissions reporting/PCAF/GHG Protocol, SBTi requirements, FI portfolio temperature alignment, decarbonisation target setting/ net zero strategy setting.
Highly beneficial
- Demonstrable experience in business development, business acquisition and maintaining client relationships
- A recognised voice in the marketplace in sustainable finance
