Position:

To perform a full range of accounts related assignments and roles such as reconciliations, ledger maintenance and ad hoc requirements.


Tasks & Responsibilities

Daily:

  • Reconcile debt factoring accounts against the ledger
  • Manage the daily fx process ensuring correct action is taken to support foreign currency transactions on any given day
  • Monitor and post cash receipts on group bank accounts when needed
  • Perform account allocations and ensure analysis codes are populated accurately
  • Resolve queries with front office, operations and finance teams
  • Manage the petty cash and foreign currencies advances for business travel and reconcile the advances against receipts and returned funds
  • Maintain designated accounts regularly to ensure data integrity
  • Prepare weekly payment run and support the accounts payable as required

Month end:

  • Involvement in preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns, European sales list and Intrastat report
  • Office of National Statistics reporting
  • Ensure postings within control accounts are appropriate
  • Count and agree petty cash and put support on file
  • Post intercompany transactions and agree intercompany position with overseas subsidiaries

Ad hoc:

  • Identify control improvements and efficiency opportunities around the existing processes
  • Assist with the development/testing/implementation of new systems
  • Assist with budget preparation when required
  • Support the external audit process
  • To take responsibility for your performance and to work together to achieve our organizational goals
  • To attend training courses which are identified as being necessary for the performance of the role
  • To be fully conversant with the Employee Handbook and supporting policies, including Health & Safety legislation and fire and emergency procedures
  • To comply with any reasonable instruction issued by your manager
  • Changes in the business may occasionally require alterations in this job description and these will be agreed with the post holder as appropriate
