Job Description: Self-employed Dog Walker & Pet Sitter
We are looking for an enthusiastic dog walker and pet sitter to cover Liverpool and its surrounding suburbs.
We're a really friendly team with great dogs and customers.
We walk several dogs each day in groups of up to 6 or occasionally 1-1. Walks take place Monday-Friday.
A typical day will include picking up, exercising, socialising and having fun with your dog crew before returning them back home. You will need to make sure each pup in your care is safe, happy and relaxed at all times. You may be responsible for up to 5/6 dogs at one time. However, candidates should be aware that you will build up to this number of dogs as you are trained, your confidence grows and experience is gained. Typically, 2 group walks are done daily (mid-late morning and early afternoon) and then solo walks/pet visits/pet taxis are done before or after the group walks. Overnight stays in customers’ homes can also be taken on should you choose.
We provide dog care services all year around, most of the working day will involve you being outdoors. You will need to be prepared to work in all weathersand not be afraid of getting wet, covered in fur or muddy paws.
Dog walking is a very physical job, which will require long periods of walking and interaction with your dogs.
The right candidate will need to be honest, reliable and have good time keeping and management skills. We are looking for someone with good problem solving skills, someone able to make quick decisions in order to keep themselves and the dogs in their care safe. Previous dog walking experience would be ideal. However, we do encourage team members to get to know everything dog, from characteristics, behaviour and positive reinforcement training methods.
Main Duties
· Pick up and drop off dogs from their homes whilst ensuring the security of clients homes
· Transport dogs safely to and from their walks and homes
· Understand and respect any special requests of clients and specific conditions for each dog
· Walk dogs outdoors in all weather conditions (storms and excessive heat excluded)
· Give each dog love and attention and treat them as if they were your own
· Ensure each dog is getting exercise
· Be able to recognise if a dog is unhappy or unwell and act accordingly
· Ensure the safety of yourself, the dogs you are walking and anyone else or wildlife around you
· Remove all pet waste
Candidates must:
· Have a full, clean driving license
· Look after dogs as if they are a member of your family
· Be able to control multiple dogs on and off lead
· Complete a pet first aid course
· Agree to a DBS check and references
· Follow instructions given by us and/our clients precisely

Job Type: Full time hours. Monday-Friday between 10am-3pm for dog walking and pet sitting and the opportunity to do occasional evening and weekend work.
Salary: variable based on bookings taken on
