Job description

Clarendon Fine Art are seeking a Gallery Manager to lead our team of Art Dealers in our beautiful Cambridge Gallery!

We are the world’s largest and fastest growing network of contemporary art galleries with a mission to make beautiful artwork accessible to all! We are well on our way to the opening of our 100th Gallery and as we approach this, we continue to pride ourselves in delivering an exceptional customer experience. With big growth comes big career opportunity. We are dynamic, passionate and pioneers in our industry, embracing those who share in these values! If you are a highly motivated individual seeking an opportunity to earn uncapped commission and build long lasting client relationships, then this could be the position for you!

About the Role:

As a Gallery Manager, you will provide a personable, tailored service to clients, building relationships and sharing your passion for our exclusive original paintings, limited editions, sculptures and collectable additions. Whether that be the contemporary work of Mr Brainwash, or the Fine Art Masters such as Picasso and Warhol, we pride ourselves in offering something for everyone!

  • Lead a dynamic team, focused on creating a memorable customer experience by building rapport, sharing product knowledge and catering to your clients’ needs
  • Personality is everything in this role so use your flair and engaging personality to develop loyalty with customers through a one-on-one consultative approach to sales
  • Go the extra mile and carry out consultation services in your clients home or offices
  • Be the expert and keep abreast of Artist facts and knowledge so that you can show your skills as an expert dealer and confidently and fluently talk to clients about our collections
  • Meet and host an array of contemporary Artists within the Gallery to promote and sell their work.
  • Reporting into the Area Sales Manager you will develop and motivate your team, identifying opportunities to develop your galleries client base
  • Opportunity to earn lucrative uncapped commission upon hitting and exceeding your monthly targets. Please ask us more about this during initial interview stages

About you!

  • We are looking for engaging and fun individuals who have a warm and consistent approach to developing relationships to lead a team
  • You will be a proactive, motivated and enthusiastic Manager, with a real drive to achieve exceptional results
  • We are looking for someone to join us full time, working 5 days over a 7-day working pattern on a rota basis. We host events and exhibitions outside of normal hours so it’s important to have flexibility for this
  • Although a background in art is beneficial, you do not need to be an expert within the art industry to excel in this position. We enrol our new starters onto our industry leading Art Academy Training to provide you with the tools you need to succeed! If you have a drive for sales and providing an exceptional client experience, we would love to hear from you!

Rewards and Benefits:

  • 33 days annual leave (25 days + Bank holidays in lieu if worked) with the opportunity to earn extra upon length of service
  • Contributory employee pension scheme
  • We know that you work hard so in addition to a competitive salary we offer a generous commission scheme and reward days out for our top performers
  • Sell Artwork, buy artwork – as a thank you we offer a fantastic employee discount scheme of up to 50% off
  • Employee PERKS - we offer you benefits and discounts including food, drink, retailers and fun days out through Bravo benefits

We embrace our differences as our collective strength which is why we are passionate about actively encouraging applicants from all cultures, backgrounds and identities. We are committed to treating our teams fairly and with respect, irrespective of their actual or assumed background, disability, or any other protected characteristic and this starts with our recruitment process. So please join us on our journey!

Please note that due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to reply to unsuccessful CV’s at this initial screening stage.
