We’re looking for a management accountant to join us in Manchester on a 6-month fixed-term contract to help implement a financial control process for Co-op Food Retail capital projects. The role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.
In this role, you’ll support the delivery of high-profile, continuous improvement projects, and provide valuable insights drawn from historical financial data to spot potential risks and opportunities.
To give you an idea of how this management accountant role will look and feel, here are some of the things you can expect to do:
- establish accounting for capital accruals projects specifically linked to acquisitions, store refits and store extensions.
- provide robust financial control over the monthly management accounts, making sure that deadlines are met and delivered to a high standard
- utilise the appropriate balance sheet accounts to support forecasting and ensure that risks are understood and managed effectively
To apply for this management accountant role, you’ll need an ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualification, or equivalent. You’ll also need:
- previous experience of capital projects and improving financial processes
- good communication skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues of all levels of seniority
- strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)
- familiarity with accountancy systems such as SAP, Cedar and Cognos
Here you’ll do work that matters. We can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services), the Wagestream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, and the YuLife app – rewarding you for exercising with discounts and vouchers for your favourite brands. You’ll also get:
- 28 days holiday pro rata (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
- a pension with up to 10% employer contributions
- access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
- coaching and training to support your career development
