The successful applicant will have experience of caring for residents with dementia, and will have a vocational qualification / diploma in Heath & Social Care at Level 2 or equivalent competencies and experience. You will demonstrate empathy and a caring nature and are able to communicate clearly and positively with those around you.

We’ll provide you with the support and training you need to develop. No day is the same, but it will include:

  • Assisting residents with a high standard of clinical, social and emotional care., recognising and meeting the specific needs of residents
  • Answer emergency bells or calls from residents, to assess the situation, to deal with resident seeking help and summon the senior care staff whenever necessary.
  • Assist residents who need help with the activities of daily living; including meal preparation, washing, dressing, toileting and personal hygiene as documented in their care plan as well as helping with daily cleaning and tidying of the household
  • Help residents with mobility problems, including transferring residents using appropriate equipment and other physical disabilities, help with use and care of aids and personal equipment.
  • Supporting residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care and encouraging and facilitating activities and hobbies
  • Being part of a team supporting the Team Leader in monitoring our residents and reporting changes
  • Communicating with residents’ families, friends and other healthcare professionals
