Role Description

The position will have a key role in the month end process, management of outsourced/in sourced finance service provision, statutory & tax compliance and maintenance of internal controls.

Scope of role covers UK market and UK based Global Functions (Product, Operations, IT, Group HQ).

Key team members: UK & Global Business partners, BPO, RDC.

Role provides day to day link between business (mainly via Finance Business Partners) and Outsourced finance function RDC (Regional Delivery Centre) in Porto and Business Process Outsourcing (based in India).

Coordination across 3 legal entities including Kantar Media UK, Kantar Media Audiences and Kantar Media Group (Treasury unit)
Job Role Requirements
Month End Reporting
-
Assist in being responsible for the month-end process including review of operating expenditure. Liaise with BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) Team (i.e. Genpact based in India) and RDC (Regional Delivery Centre) based in Porto, to ensure all month end processes are finalised on time as per agreed SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)

Supervise posting of all payroll journals and review movements for any discrepancies and corrections.

Support BPO with maintenance of Fixed Asset Register and Reconciliation

Assist RDC with month end reporting of Flash and Actuals into the group reporting tool OneStream. Carry out all checks to ensure data is reported accurately as per the ERP system (Maconomy). Providing commentary & analysis to the business partners as required

Preparation of monthly management reports and supporting adhoc requests on management information
-
Work with UK Financial Controller for any post month end queries and data requests
-
Maintenance of OneStream report building (upload tool), monthly check files and intercompany processes
-
Take an active role in the relationship and interaction between the finance team and the other divisions/locations (AP/AR/RDC/Genpact) to ensure uninterrupted information flows along with both accurate and timely servicing of the deliverables.
Balance sheet control
-
Oversee BPO & RDC to ensure all balance sheets accounts are reconciled on time and accurately.

First line review of reconciliations; follow up on queries with FBPs and instruct remedial action where vital.

Lead all aspects of posting of judgmental period-end accruals and adjustments and ensure compliance with policy and accepted accounting standards including liaison with the Finance Business Partners or other business partners on these where applicable.
Statutory Reporting & Compliance

Provide internal and external auditors with requested documentation.

Assist the preparation of the year-end financial documents.

Completion of Statutory returns (for example monthly, quarterly, annual National Statistics)
Taxation

Preparation of quarterly VAT reports for submission to KPMG and review queries prior to submission of VAT return

Leading all aspects of the Corporation Tax year-end tax pack for submission to BDO and local tax team

Preparation of annual PSA information for submission to local tax team

Contact for Kantar Group tax team.
Job accounting and Intercompany Recharges

Instruct Job Commissioning on invoicing & revenue recognition of license fees.

Preparation and review of monthly margin report alongside stock analysis for meter sales

Instruct Intercompany recharges for Staff Cost cross charges, Marketing Conferences, Central IT and ensure accurate accounting of recharges.
Internal Controls

Review BPO and RDC provision of information for completion of monthly and quarterly controls

Continuously reviewing current processes and making improvements to allow for better control and reporting efficiencies.
Adhoc
-
Work with various partners (Genpact, RDC, FBP, Regional control, Tax, Systems admin) to generate or aid creation of any adhoc reports required from FP&A, Group or Business leadership team.
