Due to our clients ongoing expansion and ambitious growth strategy, we have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller for the UK and other members of the Senior Leadership Team . This position is ideal for an ambitious and experienced professional who wishes to join a thriving company. The Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the management accounts, which currently have a turnover of approximately £13 million, as well as all associated accounting functions. The role offers the chance to exercise independent initiative and judgement in improving accounting processes, procedures, financial reporting, and overall corporate accounting growth.

The purpose of this role is to take charge of the day-to-day operations of the finance function and team, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial information to the UK Finance Controller and other stakeholders within the company.

Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to take charge of the day-to-day operations of the finance function and team, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial information to the UK Finance Controller and other stakeholders within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing month-end duties and ensuring the team meets reporting deadlines set by the group.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and departmental reports, including supporting variance analysis.
- Assisting the UK Financial Controller in preparing board packs and drafting commentary.
- Supervising the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable function.
- Preparing VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and Intrastat filings.
- Collaborating with the UK Financial Controller on corporate tax filings and tax planning exercises.
- Overseeing all payroll and pension matters in-house, working closely with the outsourced payroll bureau, Human Resources, and Operations.
- Supporting the project accountants partnership efforts with Sales and Operations to ensure accurate and timely back-office information.
- Compiling and presenting monthly forecast information for upload into the Group consolidation tool (Hyperion).
- Serving as the main point of contact for both internal and external auditors.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in internal controls, policies, and processes.
- Mentoring, challenging, and developing the existing team.
- Acting as a substitute for the UK Financial Controller when necessary.
Skills required
- Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent
- Previous experience in a high growth, commercial environment.
- People management experience
- Strong excel abilities (use of Macro's and VBA desirable)
- Project Accounting experience would be useful.
- Implementing new processes, influencing others and monitoring change
- Demonstrable experience working with non-finance staff
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Detail-oriented and demonstrates a "can-do" positive attitude
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent spreadsheet skills.
