We are recruiting for Make Ready Operatives (MRO) who wish to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards “great people, great place”.

We have posts available of 37.5 hours and 28.5 hours, joining a busy team based at Newport Ambulance Station. The MRO team cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and hours are worked as rotating shifts with all staff working a mixture of day, late and night shifts. Unsocial hours enhancements are paid for all hours worked after 8pm and before 6am as well as all hours worked on weekends and bank holidays.

We are looking for applicants who have a full, clean driving licence, are physically fit and able to work a full range of shifts.

The post holder will be responsible for deep cleaning ambulances and other vehicles to set infection control standards, they will ensure that all equipment on board these vehicles is functioning correctly, tested and in date, that the vehicle is restocked according to the vehicle equipment check lists and ready to respond.

The post holder will be expected to report accurately and correctly on defects, damage and issues relating to equipment and vehicles.

They will be expected to audit and restock all bags, once completed all bags are to be resealed and stored securely in accordance to Trust policy and record all tag numbers on the documentation provided by the Trust. The post holder will also be required to maintain stock levels to a min/max level as agreed and to report any shortages identified to enable ordering.

You will be required to refuel ambulances and occasionally reposition.
