Are you a Maintenance Technician looking to take the next step in your career within the water industry? If so, we have a great opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the team!

Whether you are a Field Service Engineer or a Maintenance Technician who has previous experience working in a 24/7 operational plant and machinery environment, then we want to hear from you!

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will enable and carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance at a range of site across the southwest predominantly the Yeovil/Taunton area.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be to ensure the effective operation of pumps, plant machinery and equipment, as well as carrying out fault finding, fault diagnosis and fault resolution.

A big part of this role will be to continuously identify and look for ways to make improvements around sites to increase the reliability of our plant, assets, and site compliance. Being a 24/7 service you will be required to complete an out of hours standby rota normally 1 week on 7 weeks off.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • planning and organising workloads
  • managing material sourcing, ordering and delivery
  • understanding our assets and our design standards to provide the best possible service to customers
  • communicate well with our local operational teams
  • visually inspecting and condition monitoring assets
  • reviewing Scada trends to review system performance and investigating issues
  • managing critical spares and spares lists
  • delivering a first-class safety approach to work
  • working in and around DSEAR Zones

What do I need?

To be considered, we are seeking a Maintenance Technician who has comprehensive experience in mechanical, who has a background working within a 24/7 operational plant and machinery environment.

It is essential that candidates applying for the role hold a City and Guilds/BTEC, NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or a time served Engineering apprenticeship.

Equally important is your health and safety knowledge. You will be familiar with working in a health and safety focussed environment, where you have personally contributed to safer working practises.

Additional requirements:

  • formal electrical training (dual skilled) is preferred but not essential
  • fully competent using a range of IT equipment, software and corporate reports
  • a valid UK driving licence.

In this role you will also have on-going training opportunities to develop your skillset and knowledge such as CompEx training.
