HOURS OF WORK
Full time positions: 37.5 hours per week
- 14:30 – 23:00 Monday to Thursday, 11:30 – 17:00 Friday
- 6:00 – 14:30 Monday to Thursday, 6:00 – 11:30 Friday
- 6:00 – 14:00 Monday to Friday
- 14:00 – 22:00 Monday to Friday
- 22:00 – 06:00 Sunday to Thursday (the “night shift” – ending 6:00a.m. on Friday)
- Required to work 1 Saturday each month 8 hour shift
Role
This role covers a broad range of responsibilities and requires a high degree of manual dexterity and the ability to operate factory machines, hand tools and use of software to run computer-operated machinery and production equipment. There is a large amount of responsibility given to individuals within this role. Any deviation from these practices or any mistake made could have serious repercussions, resulting in potentially unsafe defective products or expensive destruction of batches. Working in a cleanroom environment.
Duties:
- Operate and run production machinery efficiently.
- Respond immediately to machine operatives requiring assistance.
- Routine quality inspections to ensure products meet a high level of quality.
- Adhere to the production plans and inform Department Supervisor of any unforeseen issues.
- Analyse production activity to ensure raw materials are arranged and requested on time.
- Highlight any key issues and report back to Department Supervisor.
- Clearly communicate across departments to meet manufacturing demands.
- Regular housekeeping and cleaning of production equipment and machinery.
- Contact and report Engineering team in the event of a machinery fault or breakdown Ensure staff adherence to the refinery rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Provide a high level of training of newly introduced, less experienced staff and support the individuals by means of coaching, guidance, and advice in a consistent professional manner.
- Prepare product change documentation to ensure efficient production flow.
- Conduct of variety of product changeovers on production machinery.
- Review, update and approve quality documentation.
- Checks on stocks and parts inventories and generate re-order lists.
- Plan in and conduct preventative maintenance with Department Supervisor.
- Assist in the drafting and writing of SOP’s and Work Instructions.
- Conduct product and material machine trials, including OQ and PQ validations.
- Support the progression and development of new product trials.
- Conduct machine calibrations and inspections in accordance with the House systems.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of operating manufacturing machinery
- Attention to detail.
- Reliability and flexibility
- Exceptional Planning and organisational skills
- Computer literate to comply with internal and External IT Systems
- Flexible to work at either our Lancaster (White Cross) or Morecambe (White Lund) site

RATE OF PAY
- To be discussed at interview
- In addition, £1.00 per hour shift supplement will be applicable when working the night shift
