We are seeking an experienced IT Networks and Telecoms Infrastructure engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, development and integration of the School’s network, telecoms and security infrastructure under the leadership of the Networks & Telecoms Infrastructure Manager.
They will be responsible for the maintenance and development of the hardware and software systems that support the School’s wired and wireless networks, firewall systems and the security and remote access solutions they support, the underlying systems that support network operation such as DNS, DHCP, radius and the network management, logging and alerting services that support all these systems.
The ideal candidate will have a professional qualification or experience of IT networks, including telephony and structured wiring installations. You should also have a strong track record of successfully working within IT projects as well as balance daily tickets from our call logging system. You should have experience of supporting network and security infrastructure, specifically configuring network devices to support switching and routing protocols and experience of procuring and managing services delivered by 3rd parties. The post is full time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and permanent.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 6 in the range £43,947 - £49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
