Job description
The Job Role
- To measure the performance of mechanical components, devices and machines
- To maintain and modify equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable and efficient
- To undertake test procedures
- To provide technical advice
- To recommend modifications to the production machines
- To monitor and commission plant, machinery and systems
- To work to British (BS), European (EN) and other standards
- To repair, service and maintain equipment whether responding to emergency breakdowns or through planned maintenance
- To comply with company health and safety rules
- To participate with the quality and environmental practices in the workplace
- Effective technical skills
- Awareness of health and safety
- The ability to work under pressure
- Teamworking skills
- A high level of technical knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems
- Good oral and written communication skills and confidence in dealing with a range of people, including contractors, product engineers, directors and machine operators
- Organisational skills, such as time and resource planning
- An analytical and problem-solving approach to work
- Flexibility in order to adapt to evolving technologies
- Knowledge of working with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Strong fault diagnosis and ratification skills
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S

- A welding qualification would be an advantage
