Maintenance Engineer
Full time, shift work (24/6, 12h shifts)

We have several new interesting opportunities for Maintenance Engineers/Service Technicians to join our team in Bristol.
In this role, you will be performing electrical/mechanical diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on manufacturing assets and associated production equipment in production or assembly & test facilities. You will also provide support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing Services Engineer to ensure the objectives are delivered.
You will work at either the Machine shop or the Foundry which are at the leading edge of manufacturing, producing both Equiax and Single Crystal Nozzle Guide Vanes for our exciting range of Rolls-Royce Civil and Defence products.

What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for diagnostics, repairs and maintenance of manufacturing assets such as CNC machines and all the associated production equipment. You will:
Carry out routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks across a broad range of manufacturing assets and equipment.
Ensure that manufacturing equipment is safe, available and capable for use when required.
Read and interpret machinery and component drawings, circuit/logic diagrams and schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to enable maintenance and diagnostics.
Identify and recommend improvements to production equipment and maintenance procedures. Research and implement improvements.
Coordinate preventive and planned corrective maintenance activities with Production Staff. Regularly communicate and interface with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, and Production Operators.
Support effective induction of new team members and cross-training of other team members.

Time-served advanced engineering apprenticeship with NVQ level 3 or equivalent (to support your application, please attach a photo copy of your apprenticeship completion certificate the next to your CV).
Experience of preventative maintenance, routine maintenance and inspection on producing plant and equipment such as machine tools, Vacuum Furnace repair and maintenance, as well as Chemical Process lines would be preferable.
Willingness to undertake projects/continuous improvement activities.
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic pneumatics principles and operation.
Basic IT literacy.
Understanding of the applicable health and safety standards and regulations.
