Education Partnership North East (EPNE), a leading college group, comprises Sunderland College, Northumberland College, Hartlepool Sixth Form and EPNE Training.

In line with the group’s Strategic Plan, the post-holder will lead the development and implementation of EPNE Training, which as with a private training provider, will provide an agile all year-round provision responding to the workforce skills needs of the region. The postholder will take a lead on the group’s adult skills strategy and delivery plans, ensuring the curriculum offer meets the needs of students, employers, regulatory bodies, local communities, and the regional economy. The postholder will lead provision which enables the group to further improve our record of success and reputation, through the provision of leading, jobs focussed, Ofsted outstanding adult skills provision.

The post-holder will be commercially responsible for securing an increased market share in high quality adult skills provision and growth in funded and full cost income. In this role, they will be a member of the group’s senior leadership team and will be responsible for ensuring EPNE Training delivers a responsive, flexible and high-quality curriculum that engages and attracts employers and individuals either employed or unemployed.

The postholder will develop strong meaningful relationships with local authorities, businesses, employers and organisations and lead a dedicated team of employer engagement colleagues to support this. A dedicated business support team will also be led by the Managing Director to ensure records of training and support are accurately captured in a timely way. A team of curriculum specialists work under the direction of the Managing Director to develop and deliver a high-quality curricula, which is bespoke and responsive to local skills requirements to enable people to obtain employment and which also supports the development of skills in the workforce.

To achieve this, we are looking to recruit an ambitious individual who can engage with stakeholders and employers at a strategic level, has an innovative and solutions-based approach to co-creation with employers, is target driven, has knowledge of funding rules and compliance and can inspire a team to create, deliver and support high quality demand led provision.
