Maintenance Engineer: Ensuring Optimal Performance of Plant Machinery in Portsmouth

Responsibilities:
- Execute the TPM system (planned maintenance) meticulously, while maintaining accurate records to track maintenance activities.
- Safely install new production lines, ensuring seamless integration into our existing operations.
- Relocate machinery and associated equipment within the facility, providing in-house support for efficient reconfigurations.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on lighting and power distribution systems, guaranteeing uninterrupted functionality.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on compressed air equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Maintain and repair lighting, small power, and assembly cells with Siemens PLC controlled equipment.
- Ensure the maintenance and repair of molding machines and associated equipment for smooth production processes.
- Preserve the functionality of hydraulic and pneumatic plant equipment through regular maintenance and timely repairs.
- Install and relocate pipe work as necessary, ensuring efficient operations throughout the facility.
- Maintain and repair jigs, fixtures, and carry out essential oil changes.
- Manage stock level spares, proactively ordering when required to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all plant and machinery adhere to strict Health & Safety regulations.
- Provide support and assistance to other departments as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Apprentices and Junior Engineers, contributing to their professional growth.
- Meet personal business objectives (PBO) through exceptional performance and dedication.
- Adhere to the company's Health & Safety Policy, prioritizing personal and team safety at all times.
- Participate in out-of-hours callouts on a rotating basis and occasional weekend work to meet business demands.
- Embrace the 5S program to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on skills in maintaining and repairing plant machinery and associated equipment.
- Proficiency in executing TPM systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Familiarity with installation and relocation of production lines is highly desirable.
- Sound understanding of electrical systems, lighting, power distribution, and compressed air equipment.
- Experience with Siemens PLC controlled equipment and assembly cells is advantageous.
- Knowledge of molding machines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform pipe work installations and relocations effectively.
- Aptitude for maintaining and repairing jigs, fixtures, and conducting oil changes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to Health & Safety regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.

- Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to equipment maintenance
- Supervisory experience is a plus, as the Maintenance Engineer may be responsible for leading a team of technicians
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
