The Role
As our Maintenance Electrician, working in conjunction with the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical work across the property, in accordance with the 18th Edition. Alongside your colleagues in the Building Services team, you will have responsibility for the safe and efficient day to day operation of our buildings and facilities at The Lensbury.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test and maintain electrical and mechanical plant, equipment and systems; be able to identify common faults, e.g. excessive noise, bearing wear and overheating, taking appropriate action when possible to repair, replace or make safe defective equipment;
- Respond to any urgent issues in a prompt and professional manner;
- Assist with the provision of a corrective maintenance service to installations, plant and equipment throughout the Lensbury site;
- Update and operate the computer aided facilities management system – CAFM Explorer;
- Ensure up to date knowledge of and compliance with IEE regulations as standard and attend training as required to remain up to date;
- Enforce Lensbury Health & Safety requirements as detailed in the company policies and contingency manual e.g. fire, ambulance emergency etc. and take on responsibility as part of the Emergency response team in the event of an emergency;
- Report any risks identified that may affect guests, members or colleagues;
- Assist in training any team members in the correct and safe installation or set up of any electrical products such as television sets, microwaves, and lighting equipment;
- Work with colleagues to reduce energy costs and follow all environmental policies;
- Your rota will consist of shifts on a rota basis;
- You will be required to participate in the on-call and call out rota, providing evening, weekend and holiday cover;
- Weekend work on a rota basis (approximately 1 in 5 weekends)
What we’re looking for:
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values:
- Minimum Level 2 Electrical Qualification with 18th Edition or equivalent;
- Experience in Building Services within a Hotel/Leisure environment;
- Demonstrate a hands on approach with sound technical skills;
- Experience in the maintenance of electrical distribution systems and installations;
- Understanding of Water Hygiene;
- Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment to include: Fire Alarms, Power Distribution systems, AHU, FCU, Pumps, Heating/cooling systems and equipment, Water Softeners, Lighting systems and their controls;
- General DIY skills;
- Numerate and computer literate (Word, Excel – basic level).
