Job description
A skilled part-time Maintenance Assistant needed for a diverse and dynamic media company in London's Tech City. TVF Media operates in many media areas including interactive digital media, communications, television programming and distribution, post production and the arts.
As a Maintenance Assistant you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our working environment in both a hands on manner day to day, and in terms of planning and creativity on longer projects. Your role is both repairing and maintaining existing works whilst always proactively thinking about how we can improve as a company. Moreover, you will be integral to ensuring the smooth running of all elements of the office through responding quickly and effectively to queries from a web based issue tracker, and being the touchstone for office and building issues.
Within this role there is further scope for you to grow your own projects for developing the office building. As well as being part of the immediate response team, you will have longer term projects which you will self-manage, budget and research. Each project will be part of your role from its inception, to the thought process and research of how to execute it, and to the final work completion. This can include, but is not limited to Project Management, budgeting, sourcing of quotes and suppliers and coordinating subcontractors. There may also be an element of design work within your role as we develop creative solutions to the office’s requirements.
This is a demanding, fast-paced and highly rewarding role. As you will work across all our businesses, candidates must have strong knowledge of all maintenance skills, and an ability in electrical circuits or plumbing is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. This role would also suit a candidate from an applied arts background due to its design element.
The successful candidate will be logically-minded and looking for the chance to creatively problem-solve practical issues. You must have good communication skills and proven to be reliable, flexible and trustworthy. 3 days per week (occasionally additional days may be required). Salary: £25,30k PRO RATA, DOE.
