About this role
Our security team has the expertise to deal with up to 4,000 cyber-attacks every day. With over 5,500 global customers, our work has a real impact all around the world. You’ll join a Specialist Security team that provides the engineering support for the electrical and mechanical power systems to run our large network. You’ll be taught the principles relating to the operation and maintenance of plant and the critical equipment we use, as well as health and safety standards and environmental and regulatory requirements. You’ll also learn a range of engineering theories and principles.

Because of the sensitive nature of the high security work, you will be doing, you will need to go through additional personnel screening and Government DV Security clearance.

An allowance of £5k per annum made payable monthly may be paid while you hold DV and continue to work in a role that requires DV. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited for this role.

About the apprenticeship you'll study for
As a Power Engineer in Security, you’ll study for a Level 3 apprenticeship called Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician.
Your apprenticeship will last for three years.
You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying.
Entry Requirements
You’ll need to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4–9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language and Maths, or equivalent qualifications. However, your Maths GCSE must be at grade 6 (B or above). You’ll also need a full driving license with no more than six points. Equivalent qualifications are accepted. Due to the sensitive nature of some of our roles, you may be required to undergo Security Clearance. Don’t worry, our Early Careers teams will talk you through this if needed.
