Job description

Abstract Recruitment is seeking for a Warehouse Machine Operator for our fantastic client based in Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes MK11.

Job overview

Full training will be given to work with various types of manufacturing machinery which requires a high level of health and safety awareness the role of a Machine Operator requires a person to be comfortable working in a fast-paced demanding environment, they will manufacture high level quality products, ensuring that jobs are carried out effectively and efficiently.

Pay

Starting rate is £11.37per hour plus a £60.00 per month shift allowance, rising to £11.70 per hour following a successful probationary period, and in addition there will be further increments following periods of successful training and development.

Hours

The hours of work will be based on 4 day working week shift pattern, you need to be able to commit to working 12-hour shifts Monday-Thursday rotating every two-weeks between days (6:00am-6:00pm) and nights (6:00pm -6:00 am)

Duties and Responsibilities although not exhaustive (Full job description available form Human Resources):

· Working with various types of manufacturing machinery (Training will be given)

· On a regular basis complete quality and safety checks.

· Quality control, sort, grade, weigh and inspect products, verifying that product meets specification.

· Trim excess material from machine parts. (Requires the use of knives)

· Run out pallets once they fully stocked with finished products.

· Working with material specifications (Involves working with weights and measures).

· Assist with bailing and recycling of scrap material.

Skills/ Attributes

· Have good numeracy, written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads

· Ability to work to schedules to meet deadlines

· Potential involvement with company’s recycling programme

· Be comfortable working with all types of equipment and machinery

· Have good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

· Ability to work in a team and possess a positive approach towards the role.

· Must be reliable, punctual, and able to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

· Some experience working in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage but not essential.
