BNP Paribas
Full Time London, England 10.56 - 12.04 GBP Today
Job description

Bank Overview

BNP Paribas is a leading bank in Europe with an international reach. It operates in 68 countries and has more than 193,000 employees, including nearly 148,000 in Europe. The Group has key positions in its three main activities: Domestic Markets and International Financial Services (whose retail-banking networks and financial services are covered by Retail Banking & Services) and Corporate & Institutional Banking, which serves two client franchises: corporate clients and institutional investors. The Group helps all its clients (individuals, community associations, entrepreneurs, SMEs, corporates and institutional clients) to realise their projects through solutions spanning financing, investment, savings and protection insurance.

As one of the world’s pre-eminent banking groups – and the first ever French bank to set down roots in the UK in 1867 – the breadth and depth of our presence across the country means BNP Paribas is able provide UK companies and investors access to a full global suite of products and solutions in Europe and worldwide. This, combined with our long-term commitment to the UK, is what truly distinguishes BNP Paribas from other international banks operating in the country.

Business Area/Dept Overview

Corporate Clients Group

Corporate Clients Group internship placements include Corporate Coverage, UK Advisory and Industry Groups.

Corporate Coverage is the area within the bank that manages all of the interactions between the Bank and its corporate clients and is the gateway of BNP Paribas’ integrated offer. Advisory department offers advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, with expertise in public M&A, defence, valuation, buyside, sellside and private equity M&A. Industry Groups are responsible for the event-driven situations for the entire BNP Paribas product spectrum with a focus on specific sectors of the economy.

Capital Markets

Capital Markets consists of Debt Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Real Estate Finance, Energy, Resources & Infrastructure and Corporate Broking. Debt Markets provides debt financing for corporate clients as well as for sponsor-led leveraged transactions. This includes acquisition finance (including leveraged buy-outs), loan refinancing, as well as investment grade and high yield debt capital markets. Equity Capital Markets offers equity or equity-linked capital raising activity for corporate clients. Corporate Broking is closely aligned with Equity Capital Markets and acts as BNP Paribas UK listed clients’ prime equity adviser and interface with markets and investors. Real Estate Finance provides financing of commercial real estate transactions through loans to real estate clients (insurance companies, real estate investment trusts, properties companies, pension funds, asset managers). Energy, Resources and Infrastructure provides specialized lending and debt advisory to specific industry sectors: power, energy, metals, mining and infrastructure.
