The Linen, Laundry and Uniform Team Leader in logistics plays a vital role in the comfort and safety of our patients, making sure our theatre teams are provided with scrubs suits to wear to undertake operations as well as ensuring all our nurse teams, junior doctors, consultants and medical students are provide with uniforms as they join the trust in their new roles and replacement uniform when their uniforms become worn. On top of which, our on site state of the art laundry that you will oversee provides the cleaning team with specialist mops to ensure all floor areas of the hospital are kept immaculate and free from dirt and grime 24/7. It’s a dynamic and fast paced job – every day is different and presents new challenges.

The Logistics Team Leader for Linen, Laundry & Uniforms has the day to day responsibility for ensuring an efficient and effective high quality Linen, Laundry & Uniforms service is provided to all clinical and non-clinical departments. This also includes the operating of an onsite laundry for the washing and disinfection of mops to the Cleaning Service, and distribution of nursing and facilities staff uniforms on site. A key responsibility is to report back on the performance of the contracted launderer for the Trust, this is a large contract and providing all the linen for patients on site, and hired scrub sets for Theatres and areas where minor procedures take place. This post assists the DHOF through meetings, discussions and forward planning with staff and service users advising of any issues arising from the provision of the linen, laundry, uniform and on site laundry service
On occasion the Logistics Team Leader may be required to support other departments in times of emergency or high activity:
- Oversee supervising the Waste Portering Team, print and issue waste equipment and furniture requests, ensuring rotas are covered, attendance records maintained and advise the team as required.
- Assist the General Portering Supervisors and cover the Task Management system or assist in the transport of patients on site.
- Collect and deliver items of equipment to the offsite storage facility
