Youth Engagement Worker Grade 8; £32,988 - £34,809
36 per week / Monday – Friday (Required to work a minimum of 3 evenings per week and some weekends)

The Opportunity
The Post holder will be based within the Croydon Youth Engagement Team and the local borough of Croydon. They will also respond to the needs of the area-based partnerships, borough-wide strategies. The post holder will engage with young people through the direct design and delivery of a range of high-quality youth engagement interventions, support and resources and partnership with Croydon Social Care, Education, Health and the Voluntary Community Sector. The post holder will also be required to listen to and engage with young people and forge relationships across communities, ensuring that information gathered is fed into the development of strategy and service delivery. They will be expected to work flexibly across the youth engagement specialisms of youth voice, outreach, Early help and family support in order to promote positive well-being, safety and education outcomes for children and young people.

About You
We are looking for a confident professional, who have:
- Comprehensive understanding of
- related legislation, statutory guidance, standards and procedures
- assessment processes and identification of need
- quality assurance methodology and outcomes based practice
- Excellent engagement skills with children and young people
- Able to develop and maintain relationships with children and young people who may have complex needs
- Ability to work flexibly across the specialisms of youth engagement – youth voice, outreach, projects and targeted support
- Experience of supporting children, young people and communities teams through change
- Experience of contributing to and participating in new ways of working
1x Permanent 1x Fixed Term Contract until March 2025
