St Piers School and College sits in the Education Directorate of Young Epilepsy, the leading national charity working exclusively to improve the lives of children and young people with epilepsy and associated conditions.
St Piers is an innovative and creative non-maintained residential special school and college for children and young people aged 5-25 with epilepsy, autism, severe learning difficulties, speech, language, and communication needs, and sensory and/or physical needs. We work with young people to create personalised learning programmes appropriate to their individual needs and abilities. Our aim is to help them to fulfil realistic aspirations, achieve their goals, and develop meaningful and relevant skills for everyday life in society.

About the role:
- To receive and record the deliveries of all goods to Young Epilepsy, and if necessary be responsible for dealing with carriers over discrepancies between orders and goods delivered
- The management of all stores and that they are maintained in a clean and orderly condition including a rotation of perishable goods, movement of stock, temperature controls etc. in areas to include the provisions store/household store/building and technical store/ furniture store/linen store.
- The management of goods and consumables that have appropriate stock levels
- The management of distribution of goods, required by individual departments.
- Coordinate timely delivery of lunchtime meals to school and college and any corporate lunch requirements
- To be responsible for the daily/weekly vehicle checks to ensureall fleet vehicles are road- worthy each day
- To challenge supplier cost/negotiate cheaper rates for materials, stock, and consumables
- To coordinate the organisation and collection of category, ‘E’ waste from buildings and is undertaken in a safe and efficient manner and in line with H&S
- Keep financial records of stock allocated to other departments across site and monitor stock control to areas
Other Responsibilities
- To supervise the signposting and parking arrangements for ‘open’ days and other ‘open campus’ events.
- To ensure all minor vehicle repairs are completed after checks e.g., bulb / wiper replacements, Ad-blu, water, oil, tighten seat fixations, reset tail lifts
- To communicate effectively with colleagues and maintain an excellent relationship and work closely with the Maintenance team
- Monitor and manage the general and electrical waste area and skips
- Help the Logistics Assistants whenever possible and cover any sickness / annual leave to ensure x2 people are available for any large manual handling tasks
- Monitor building fabric condition and carry out painting and decorating and other low level maintenance lead works as directed by the Estates Operations Manager
- Carry out minor projects as directed by the Estates Operations Manager
Supervisory
- To supervise the activities of the Logistics Assistants, to ensure efficient delivery of materials across the site.
- To be fully aware of the stock levels in the stores and advise the respective departments on availability of goods.
- Monitor stock of white goods and order accordingly
- Carry out minor repairs to white goods and small-scale maintenance requests
- To transport goods and furniture around site as required.
- To coordinate the transporting training equipment and setting up room requirements in various venues across the site as required, ensuring equipment is in fully working order.
- To assist other departments in the setting up arrangements for furniture removals, meetings and events as required. Especially the large student moves over the summer holidays.
- To undertake any other tasks/duties that might be reasonably expected by the Facilities Manger
- To engage and support Student Work Experience placements

This is a very pivotal role that plays a key part in the smooth running of the estates department. We are a 105-acre campus with 42 active buildings of varying sizes and complexity; therefore, we are looking for someone with great organizational skills, get up and go with a keen eye for detail
