Position:
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Logistics Supervisor to join a successful, entrepreneurial company with offices globally. We work with a diverse portfolio of retailers and supply bespoke products within various categories, including Reusable Bags, Health & Beauty, Household products and Impulse Snacking.
Purpose of the role
To support with the fulfilment and execution of activities within the Logistics function for Solent Group with a focus on overseeing daily logistics activity and stock integrity to ensure control of the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow of goods, services and related information across the network in order to meet customer requirements.
Scope & Relationships
The Logistics Supervisor and Stock Integrity role will report directly to the Head of Logistics and is supported by the wider supply chain team aligned to customer demand and commercial colleagues.
This role will support in management and operational requirements of the groups stock within the warehouse along with all related processes within the logistics function.
Actively encourage and act as a mentor for all logistics partners across Lean implementation, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma project implementation/completion by reviewing supply chain activity data to ensure world class performance.
Work closely with the Head of Logistics and wider Supply Chain teams globally to ensure focus is assigned correctly to both internal and external customer demands.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee daily logistical activity, providing support to both inbound and outbound logistics functions
- Gatekeeper for keeping all stock records accurate matching physical to book, investigating and amending as required
- Following direction to quarantine stock if required
- Making sure no damages or non-conforming stock remains within the warehouse
- Flagging slow moving/short shelf life product as risk
- Maintain and update storage/throughput volume data within the warehouse activity tracking report
- Ensure SAP system updated with any stock adjustments
- Striving towards best-in-class operation, working with warehouse partners to continually improve stock management, receipt and pick processes with a right first time mentality
- Completion of full stock audit at mid-year and year end adhering to business deadlines, with continual PI throughout the year
- Provide warehouses with all new SKU information in preparation for arrival of NPD
- Resolve inbound/outbound delivery discrepancies
- Track and report on warehouse handling/storage costs
- Invoice checking to ensure accurate vs expected costs
- Prioritise operations and daily tasks as required in regard to business demand
- Support development of logistics processes, process mapping and work instructions in line with company strategic objectives with regards to environment, quality, customer satisfaction, cost and efficiency
- Develop partner relationships and establish your own key network of contacts with our partners
- Promote an attitude of innovation, pace and intrinsic positivity
- Actively seek to improve skills and logistics knowledge base, via training, site visits and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
Experience
- Proven logistics experience
- Has dealt with multiple warehouse and customer
- SAP or ERP skills across supply chain functions
- Understand supply chain connectivity with all departments
- Understand complete end to end flow of sales, from purchase to dispatch aligned to OTIF
- Has worked in a fast-paced operations environment
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise
- Up to date with all legislation regarding road, air and sea transport operations
- FMCG experience advantageous
