Job Title: Logistics Supervisor
Location: Sandwich, Kent
Salary: up to £30,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm

- Ensure the efficient receipt of goods and materials ensuring thorough inspection to ensure any damaged or missing items are reported immediately.
- Co-ordinate collections and deliveries and be responsible for controlling inventory stock levels.
- Develop and manage a pro-active inventory control system managing both routine and non-routine goods movements.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure goods are collected in a timely manner and report any deficiencies.
- Manage high standards of housekeeping at all times in all warehouse areas.
- Ensure a daily site walk-thru is conducted analysing areas that need improving and if necessary, writing up action points.
- Ensure that all deliveries received are checked and stores in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Coordinate the timely unloading and loading of vehicles.
- Loading and unload containers either by hand, lifting equipment or a forklift truck.
- Be responsible for the movement of stock following the goods in process.
- Ensure timely picking and assembling of orders to meet collection deadlines.
- Ensure that all stock is loaded into the relevant department location.
- Move parcels, equipment and goods between the multiple locations on site.
- Stack and secure products on to shelving or pallets.
- Take ownership of the area and maintain a drive for right first time and being proactive in looking for continuous improvement.
- Build up a network of suppliers and manage those relationships ensuring the company receives competitive prices, a good service and good value for money.
- Ensure delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production procedures.
- Provide support to other departments including sampling products, preparing materials for manufacture, storage of finished materials, labelling and other support as needed.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of consumable and other items and ordering as necessary.
- Keep accurate stock records and carry out stock counts as and when required.
- Input data regarding stock and inventory counts in relevant systems.
- Ensure the safe storage of solvents in line with good manufacturing practice and health & safety standards.
- Keep areas clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency and reduce health and safety hazards.
- Ensure all lifting and manual handling activities are carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and codes.
- Handling of hazardous materials in accordance with risk assessments.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by the Operations Manager.
- Background in stores and stock management.
- Experience of working with couriers, goods in and shipping out.
- Ideally you will have an understanding of COSSH and Good Manufacturing Processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills.
- The ability to follow instructions and operating procedures.
- Be able to communicate with people at all different levels.
- Demonstrate resilience and dexterity.
- Computer literate and the ability to maintain online systems and data.
- Be able to influence different stakeholders.
- Experience with audits.
