We are expanding our Logistics team and looking for a forward thinking individual seeking a challenge and wanting to work for an exceptional organization that is on an exponential growth journey.
As a Logistics Officer you are responsible for ensuring shipments are arranged in line with our customer expectations. You will have knowledge of regulations and shipping requirements across the globe by Sea and Air.
As the representative of the Channel and be responsible for ensuring we deal with reputable, reliable shipping partners.
Main Duties
- Creating import/ export documentation for product shipments
- Liaising with Suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery
- Sourcing and on-boarding new logistics partners to deliver best in class logistics service to customers
- Arranging transportation for shipments to global destinations from the UK, USA & China
- Ensuring shipments have correct certificates to meet custom requirements
- Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure all documentation for import shipments is prepared prior to arrival
Person Specification
- Prior experience within a manufacturing and/or distribution company that exports globally
- Strong administration experience in a logistics environment including import & export knowledge
- Flexible approach required to support the business in peak times, willingness to learn and adaptable to change
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confidence working independently as well as in a team
- Comfortable working towards SLA’s to deliver best in class service

- Blackburn: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Logistics: 3 years (required)
- understanding INCO TERMS: 2 years (preferred)
- actually booking shipments with forwarders/airlines etc: 2 years (required)
- understand and dealt with custom clearance: 2 years (required)
- logistics to China: 1 year (preferred)
