Job title: Logistics Manager

Role purpose
- The Logistics Manager will form part of the project leadership team. Therefore, the logistics manager will be responsible for ensuring that the logistics plan is executed safely, to budget and to maximise the efficiency of the programme.
- Assisting the Project teams to deliver a quality service and product to our clients, in line with the project goals by working with the professional team and applying ISG systems, procedures and culture.
- It is essential that the logistics strategy is coordinated with the schedule and that the logistics plan supports the execution of the schedule.
- Ensure seamless logistics across the project to allow successful delivery in the most efficient manner, including client logistical liaison. Manage the project logistics team to execute the logistics plan to achieve optimum efficiency.
- Aid coordination between projects for programme clash and high risk works (blasting/cranes)
- Liaise and improve local subcontractor supply chain
- Liaise with the Construction Manager/Project Manager to ensure they are fully aware of progress, monitoring Health & Safety and deliveries.
- Ensure adequate systems are in place and manage the Logistics Managers to prepare and maintain work supplies on site by obtaining and delivering equipment, tools, supplies and materials in line with ISG best practice.
- Manage the Logistics Team for reading work orders, locating and verifying items in returns to storage inventory by loading, moving, and unloading items.
- Complete labour, plants and material returns sheets.
- Ensure project waste management is line with the Client's and ISG's environmental requirements and policies.
- Ensure that the Logistics Team are managing the necessary permits for the works e.g. hot works, isolations etc.
- Ensure that the Logistics Team maintain records as directed by the Construction Manager e.g skip rotations make sure waste is coded on ticket properly in accordance with European skip catalogue.
- Apply the Best Practice Manual conscientiously
- Liaise with Project Leads for project establishment
- Plan, implement and manage temporary heating and power systems together with the responsible temporary works manager across the various projects.
- To work in a proactive manner with the HSE managers to ensure best practices across the project.
- To take active participation in ensuring safe working practices are undertaken in and around the project.
- Oversee the organisation workforce to ensure safe working environment.
- Ensure the maintenance of an obstacle free and safe working environment.
- Proven experience and good working knowledge of all common building and services trades
- Fully conversant with all Health and Safety issues
- Experience of managing Logistics Managers and multiple teams at a given time
- Full First Aid certification
- Works effectively and efficiently with fellow team members
- To have excellent subcontractor supervisory skills
- To have excellent verbal communication skills to achieve results
- Flexible
- Ability to think in an innovative manner
- Good management skills
- Good strategic planning skills
