Logistics Manager
Alpha Manufacturing, a member of The HEX Group, is a privately-owned business fabricating sheet metal in the UK. Alpha designs and produces both sheet metal work components and assemblies. Established in 1989, the company now employs over 150 people. Utilising industry leading technology, Alpha Manufacturing have facilities to design, prototype and manufacture a diverse range of products all in their purpose-built sheet metal fabrication factory in the heart of Staffordshire.
Having experienced significant growth and success over the last few years, we are looking to strengthen our team with the recruitment of a Logistics Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management and supervision of both the despatch and goods in team’s daily activities. Ensure that raw materials are available for production and that the incoming supply of materials is planned, managed, and stored ready for use in the production system. Ensure that production control data is up to date and accurate. Ensure that goods out despatches are planned in-line with customer requirement and that delivery performance is met. Ensure that the logistics team work in an effective and efficient manner at all times.
Key accountabilities include;
- Managing team performance to meet KPI’s
- Liaise with Purchasing to ensure all deliveries are planned and receipted in- line with production demands
- Overseeing the running and management of shopfloor stock locations and the Stopa Storage System
- Ensure all PPI checks are carried out
- Ensure incoming product is checked, received and stored correctly
- Management of stock in Sage X3 including all stock movements and scrapping of material
- Manage and maintain vehicle fleet
- Manage driver hours ensuring compliancy with laws and regulations
- Liaise with customers and 3rd party delivery companies when required
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience;
- Transport Manager CPC is preferred but not essential
- Experience managing drivers and driver hours
- Experience managing stock through a system preferably Sage X3
- Experience managing a team and their performance
- Flexible and able to adapt as required
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills

The successful candidate will be entitled to:
