Scientific Drilling is looking for a Log Analyst to be based in Aberdeen, UK. Our Cased Hole Services is a leading technology innovator and service provider for oil and gas and geothermal reservoir and well integrity evaluation, serving customers globally. The Log Analyst is expected to perform the essential duties listed below:


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the suitability of logging data sets for processing and interpretation. Process the logs and data into a format which gives true representation of down-hole logging conditions
  • Complete log interpretation/report, ensuring it is accurate before being delivered to the customer. Discuss/present log interpretation results to the customer and deal with any customer queries on this interpretation
  • Advise customers on achieving the logging survey objectives by preparing logging procedures and tool string diagrams and processing lift force calculations for the expected well conditions. Attend pre-job meetings with customers
  • Ensure all logging data is processed, analysed, reported and archived to conform to Company QA
  • Provide support and interpretation of data for Survey, Directional and MagTraC services as required
  • Ensure efficient promotion of Company activities through liaison with the customer
  • Assist with scheduling and allocation of tasks/activities to Logging Field Engineers and Technicians
  • Ensure that all work done is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with company policy and local legislation. Promote good safety awareness, encouraging and promoting a safe working culture and leading by example
  • Assist in the training of new staff, as required
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested/required by management

Education, Experience, Certification and Training

  • Educated to university level or equivalent, or relevant oilfield experience
  • Experience in production logging, multi-finger caliper and pulsed neutron data interpretation is advantageous.
  • Ongoing job-specific training will be provided as required
