Renishaw’s Localisation team bridges language barriers to ensure the Renishaw Group achieves effective communication between its staff, partners, prospects and customers in the global market. We support Renishaw's business growth and customer services by providing language services which enable it to meet its obligations and launch products successfully.
We are looking for a Localisation Project Manager to join our Gloucestershire-based Localisation team, which is responsible for all translation, localisation, interpreting and language learning for the Renishaw Group. The role will require a well-motivated, organised, confident individual, who can work well individually and as part of a team. The ability to juggle multiple time sensitive projects as well as a keen eye for detail is key. You will possess excellent communication skills as you will deal with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Management of translation projects
- Support the localisation needs of the Renishaw Group, including technical manuals, patents, legal contracts, websites, adverts, brochures, software GUIs, apps and much more
- Preparation of files for translators, ensuring best practice project preparation, workflow and set up
- Organising translation by agencies/freelance translators or using in-house resources
- Task allocation, issuing of purchase orders and processing invoices
- Creation, maintenance, and management of translation memories
- Preparation, updating and management of glossaries
- Contact with translators to co-ordinate queries about terminology and technical matters
- Completion of quality checks on texts in line with style guides and glossaries
- Liaison between language service providers, internal partners and our overseas subsidiaries
- Advocate for localisation best practice across the business
Key requirements
- Proficiency in at least one non-English language
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent organisational skills, adaptable and comfortable juggling a range of tasks in a fast-moving environment
- Good time management skills - able to work quickly, flexibly, and effectively to meet deadlines and targets
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well under own initiative without direction, prioritising and organising own workload, whilst working within broad guidelines
Desirable requirements
- Prior experience in a translation or localisation project management role
- Familiarity with CAT tools and content management systems
- Experience of localisation software, including Trados Studio
- Familiar with the latest translation technologies - Working experience of MT and post-editing a distinct advantage
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop)
- Degree in languages or related field
