We have an exciting opportunity for students who are interested in live sound engineering and audio recording.
Please note, this position is strictly for University students seeking a Work Placement, Sandwich Year or Year In Industry starting in the summer of 2023.
Candidates must live in or within a commutable distance to London.
We are looking for an enthusiastic intern with a passion for live music, events and sound engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to gain real experience as a sound engineer, offering an insight into the live sector, as well as countless valuable networking opportunities and essentially setting you up for a career in the music industry.
The successful applicant will help in many different areas of the live sector from promotion, booking artists and music consultancy. However, the main focus of the placement will be on Live Sound Engineering, Stage Repping (looking after and running gigs)and Studio Audio Recording. You will learn how to stage rep live events and you will shadow sound engineers at multiple venues around London with the aim of becoming a fully fledged sound engineer, regularly engineering your own events once ready.
Other duties may include assisting experienced sound engineers, working with venues to improve sound systems, running sound checks and live shows, running box office, sourcing new bands, updating websites, writing news articles and music reviews, editing sound for podcasts, creating artwork and general ad hoc. You may also have the opportunity to learn videography, content creation, video editing, photography, broadcast production, live-streaming and much more.
The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to attend various music festivals.
