A wonderful opportunity for a live-in Butler/Handyman to become an extension of a family living in the Isle of Man.
The Estate comprises a 6-bed farmhouse, which is home to the owner and her two teenage children together with dogs and cats, along with detached converted barn, office, conference facility, four holiday cottages and two further properties that are tenanted on a long-term basis. The owner’s father lives independently nearby and alongside his home has responsibility for five tenanted residential properties, gardens, vehicles, boats and a cat.
Employed at present are an Estate Manager, Equestrian Yard Manager/Instructor, 2 Yard Grooms, 2 Estate Workers, 1 part-time Housekeeper, 1 full time Gardener and occasional Admin Support.
The owner is looking for a Butler/Handyman to join the Estate Team whose primary responsibility is the orderly running, good health, well-being and happiness of the Estate owner’s household and that of her fit and active father who lives independently nearby.
The applicant must be trustworthy, energetic, respectful, kind, cheerful, friendly, flexible, hard-working and self-motivated with full clean driving licence and a love of animals. House-sitting and some evening and weekend work will be required together with occasional travel.
Role and Responsibilities to include:
- Experience and knowledge of marine craft would be desirable
- Experience and knowledge of vehicles
- Experience and knowledge of property maintenance
- Liaising with contractors and sub-contractors
- Managing rental cottages, turning them around prior to guests arriving/departing
- Responsibility for maintaining servicing and cleaning vehicles and equipment
- Competent in handling and operating a full range of machinery, vehicles, and farm equipment
- Running errands
- Walking dogs and feeding pets when required
- Basic household maintenance and housekeeping
- Administration including enquiries, booking and accounts support

Accommodation: Lovely self-contained 1-bedroom apartment

Days of work: Monday-Friday/Saturday - 45 hours per week. Flexibility required
