Brief Description
To proactively support the line blockage manager in providing a robust line blockage plan each day.
About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities:
1. Proactively manage the daily reporting of line blockages.
2. Validate line blockage applications so that when they are accepted they are correct and fit for purpose.
3. Plan and reschedule line blockages to facilitate effective management of line blockage opportunities based on applications from all stakeholders.
4. Record and publish laid down Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
5. Analyse KPIs and work with all stakeholders to reduce the amount of declined applications which will lead to improved productivity and cost efficiency by utilising cyclic plans and the use of Protection Controllers (PC).
6. Manage data integration in order to support the Line Blockage Manager with cyclic plans that will also take into account seasonal change and operational requirements.
7. Manage and eradicate duplication of work and achieve zero clashes.
8. Cover for the Line Blockage Manager at weekly planning meetings.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven ability to build relationships with customers and stakeholders and managing expectations
- Working knowledge of access planning systems and processes
- Proven experience in delivering to agreed timelines and standards
- Good communication skills and a customer focussed approach
- Good understanding of the Safe System of Work Plan (SSOWP) process
- Good understanding of the rules and processes for taking line blockages
Desirable
- Understanding of train service structure and commercial and practical implications of implementing changes to the timetable
- Controller of Site Safety (COSS) competence
