Cleansing Light Driver
Salary: £24,209 per annum
Hours: 40 per week
Based in Courtlands Road, Eastbourne
Join our waste services team and be part of an innovative and exciting recycling, refuse and street cleansing team providing a waste collection service of lasting improvements across the borough of Eastbourne.
Working in the Waste Services team, you will need to be flexible to carry out a variety of street cleansing duties with a total commitment to customer care, providing a quality service for residents and customers of Eastbourne Borough.
The role is a dual role involving driving and non-driving duties. Vehicles will include mechanical sweepers and transit vans.
It is essential that you have a current, clean Class B driving licence.
This is a physically demanding role, working outdoors in all weather. You will need to be able to undertake the heavy manual operations and activities associated with the job.
You will need to be trained and fully familiar with manual handling and lifting techniques and work in accordance with the organisation’s Health and Safety Policies and safe systems of work.
You will be an ambassador of the organisation and a positive role model for your fellow work colleagues, promoting diversity, equalities and inclusivity.
You will be required to carry out ‘catch-up work’ and may be required to assist outside normal hours with emergency works.
