Purpose of the Role:

As part of McLaren Racing’s Partnerships team, the Licensing and Merchandise team operates a broad and diverse consumer merchandise and licensed product programme through its partners, authorised resellers, B2B activities and an expanding eCom business.


The purpose of the role is to support the Licensing Team in the day to day running of the department. The role will involve working with a wide variety of contacts at all levels – across the business internally with Marketing, Racing and Automotive and with License and Sponsor partners.


This role could suit someone looking for a year in industry as part of their degree or someone who has recently graduated and is looking for their first role. We are looking for someone to join the team in May or June 2023.


This role will be based at the McLaren Technology Centre. We have a hybrid working policy and this role will require you on site for a minimum of 3 days out of 5 a week. Please note that applications for this role close on Friday 12th May.


Role Dimensions:

You will support our B2B Sales and Special projects team taking responsibility for critical administrative and operational tasks that are fundamental to the successful running of our B2B sales division.


Your day to day tasks across licensing will include key tracker maintenance, assisting with product approvals, marketing campaigns and the smooth on timely running of the department over all.


General Tasks:

  • Support team across general department administrative tasks
  • Assist with meeting arrangements
  • Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries
  • Manage product sample room and tracking
  • Process department purchase orders
  • Assist with department projects
  • Undertake market analysis, researching trends within the fashion, Motorsport / international sports and wider licensing landscape to identify new merchandise categories, to help maintain awareness of trends and commercial landscape to help inform our strategy
  • Remain up to date with the latest industry developments and best practices
  • Support at events and photoshoots / filming as required
  • Assist with co-ordination of product launches
  • Co-ordinate data management over key documents, tracker updates and circulate update reports to team weekly (approval trackers, launch planners, critical paths and range plans)
  • Proactively contribute ideas to the team
  • Process relevant systems work for B2B orders including POs, Goods receipting and sales orders
  • Maintain and update the B2B ecommerce sales platform
  • Manage internal product order windows across racing departments


Knowledge,
Skills and Experience:

  • You could be studying, or have studied, a range of disciplines including business, marketing, data or economics but this isn't an exhaustive list!
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple on-going projects
  • A well organised and proactive work approach
