Job description

We are looking to recruit a Library Learning Advisor for our Nottingham campus who will proactively support the provision of library services locally and nationally and contributing to the delivery of the ULaw Skills Academy. The University of Law is a full-service law school with an ambitious goal to diversify and develop its future course portfolio.

As a Library Learning Advisor at The University of Law you will:

  • Help students and staff to explore our collections, make use of our learning spaces and engage with our skills support services.
  • Answer student and staff enquiries, deliver workshops and undertake stock management activities
  • Assist in the delivery of high-quality library and learning services to students and staff of the University of Law, supporting the new academic model and the delivery of the Skills Academy
  • Enable students and staff to develop strong information and digital literacy skills through the provision of specialist training and support, to facilitate successful learning outcomes

We are looking for somebody who:

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and would enjoy interacting with a wide range of students and colleagues in person and online
  • Can contribute effectively to our team of cross-campus Library Learning Advisors to complete projects, share knowledge and develop innovative ways to support students and staff
  • Has a good level of digital literacy, including use of Microsoft Office, library systems, discovery tools, databases and e-resources
  • Ideally has experience in a library setting or information service

This is a student facing, part time role of 21 hours a week. The role is primarily based at our friendly and welcoming Nottingham campus and some flexibility may be required to travel to our other UK campuses for team meetings or project work. The successful candidate will be a dedicated team member and networker but will also be confident working by themselves.
