This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

- One year of customer service experience
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering in a public library
- Experience with library-related automation systems
- Experience assisting customers with online account payments and account management
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English
- Issue, verify, and renew library cards and inform customers of their account status
- Resolve customer concerns by phone, in person, or e-mail and refer escalated customer concerns to appropriate staff members or supervisors
- Assist customers with the self-service payment kiosk and answer reference questions
- Process library materials for shelving and routing and assist with maintenance and display of the collection
- Light cleaning duties, such as dusting, straightening, and bathroom tidying
- Initiate search for materials claimed as returned
- Library environment on a K-12 campus requiring evening and weekend availability
- Must complete a background check to obtain an Identity Verified Print (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card, upon hire
- Ability to cover shifts at nearby library branches
- Ability lift up to 20 pounds floor-to-waist; lift up to 5 pounds waist-to-shoulder, lift 1 pound shoulder-to-overhead, carry up to 10 pounds a distance of up to 50 feet, and push/pull up to 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet
