Churchill College is seeking to appoint a College Librarian for a fixed term contract to provide maternity leave cover.
The College library is critical to the academic performance of the College’s undergraduate students, and an important resource for graduate students and Fellows (academics).
In addition to the professional responsibility of ensuring the quality and smooth running of the Library, managing its budget and leading the Library staff, the Librarian is also expected to be an active and engaged member of the College. The Librarian’s role involves engaging with many different aspects of the College community, its Fellows, its graduate and undergraduate students, and administrative staff in other departments.
The successful candidate will have substantial relevant experience as a librarian in an academic environment ideally and possess a relevant postgraduate qualification.
The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week which may entail some evenings and days at weekends, for example at the start of the academic year. Some working from home may be possible during University vacations.
