Job introduction
We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking School Librarian to join our team as soon as possible
To work 5 days per week, from 8.30am-3.30pm, 32.5 hours per week.
This is a Grade C role, LGA Scale 5 £24,948-£26,845 per annum pro rata.
Actual pro rata salary £18,795 per annum (term time only, paid for 44.6 weeks per year).
About the role
We would like a Librarian, who is passionate about reading and literacy. The successful candidate will work with senior staff and another Librarian to create an exciting environment that promotes reading and literacy for students, staff and visitors. Ideally candidates will have experience in this field, but this is not essential as training can be provided if required.
The successful candidate will

- be committed to making a difference to our students by helping to raise literacy levels;
- have the vision to make the Library an exciting and stimulating learning space;
- have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Patcham High School is an 11 – 16 comprehensive school of 1100 students, situated on the northern outskirts of Brighton, very close to the old village of Patcham and within easy reach of the A23 and A27. The school is rapidly improving, at an exciting stage of change and development.
