ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP
In this role, you will be enrolled on to the Level 4 Intelligence Analyst Apprenticeship Programme based at our JD Sports Distribution Centre in Rochdale.
The role working hours is based on a 4 nights on, 4 nights off shift pattern (6:30pm-7am).
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
At any given moment, JD Sports is a hive of activity. Our retail stores are constantly buzzing with consumers, our head offices are bustling with thousands of employees and our warehouses are continuously working productively to fulfil customer orders. It's all happening at once, every minute of the day.
To maintain that real time activity around the UK and wider Europe, across our retail stores, corporate and warehouses, you need best in class technology, advanced security programmes, constantly improving systems and immense attention to detail behind the scenes. CCTV needs to be monitored. Security breaches need to be investigated. Preventing theft, tracking down intruders, contacting police units, analysing trends and patterns – you name it – it must be slick, effective, and swiftly dealt with, so our customers and employees receive excellent service and protection, every time. That essential work, encompassing all our key JD European locations, is down to the Security Analyst team. Put simply, they're the protective force of our company.
If you have a keen attention to detail, are familiar and interested in IT systems and programming, love to solve problems, and enjoy the investigative work required of a security analyst, this apprenticeship will be an excellent opportunity for you. The successful candidates will have the exciting advantage to get the full insight to everything that occurs behind the scenes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To deal with alarm activations efficiently and update the relevant stakeholders
- To ensure that all procedures in relation to the SOC are followed and escalated where necessary
- To liaise with the Police/fire in relation to alarm activations and enable collaboration with colleagues in partner agencies to share intelligence and facilitate cross-sector
working practices. - To use Technical Knowledge to assist with intruder alarm setting and activations
- To update Key holders, alarm codes and ensure checks are made to confirm identity
- Resolving security events and operational security issues.
- Investigating minor and major security breaches in accordance with established
procedures - Supporting delivery of on-going security initiatives and security projects using data analytics and intelligence to identify criminal behaviour, security threats and to identify
and reduce theft and make our stores, gyms, and distribution centres safer for colleagues. - To monitor CCTV in stores and report issues to the relevant manager
- To identify faults and escalate to Security Tech recording the incident number
- To adhere to all company policies and ensure you are working within health and safety guidelines
- To produce evidence including CCTV footage for the group as requested and ensure compliance with GDPR
- Use Security Software to perform duties, Wintex, HikCentral, Geminni, Galaxy, Texecom, Samsung/Hanwha, Paxton, Microsoft Office
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE NEEDED
- Experience of working to health and safety requirements
- Excellent computer literacy skills as all information is recorded on databases
- Able to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Works well as part of a team; supportive of others and to supplement the Duty Controller
- Communicates effectively both written and oral. Must be comfortable with speaking with 3rd party suppliers, enforcement companies, police and different departments
within the business - Respond to issues quickly, positively in a fast paced and changing environment
- Experience of working in the security industry / Alarm Receiving Centre is preferred
- Ability to pass a practical exam which will be required once training is completed in the role
