Level 1 Teaching Assistant

Level 1 Teaching Assistant Derby, England

Derbyshire County Council
Full Time Derby, England 21575 - 21968 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting our children at Beaufort Primary School. All posts are subject to a safer recruitment process which includes enhanced criminal records and barring checks, scrutiny of employment history, robust referencing and other vetting checks. Our safeguarding system is underpinned by a range of policies and procedures which encourage and promote safe working practice across the School.

On joining you will be required to undergo continuous professional development to maintain safe working practice and to safeguard our children and young people.

We are, therefore, looking to appoint a teaching assistant, who is committed, dedicated, determined and resilient - an individual who is knowledgeable about learning and skilled at bringing out the best in all our learners so that they become confident, resourceful and well-educated members of our society.

You will need to:

  • Manage time effectively and respond flexibly to the needs of the children.
  • Implement learning strategies to support children’s development and progress.
  • Report information and evidence back to the class teacher so that planning next steps is accurate.
  • Respond calmly and constructively when dealing with children with SEND.
  • Be an effective team player.
  • Learn and use a range of strategies to deal with classroom and individual behaviour.
  • Believe that ALL children should be the best they can be

In return, we provide the opportunity to work with polite and well-mannered children, who have positive attitudes to their learning and want to do well; and to be part of a staffing team that plans together and supports one another. We also encourage our staff to be open minded to all learning opportunities for themselves and therefore place high value on CPD to keep our staff up to date with skills and knowledge.
