Suzy Lamplugh Trust is looking for a new Trustee with a legal background to join the organisation. If you would like to contribute to the work of the leading personal safety charity, we would like to hear from you.

The Trust was founded in 1986 by Paul and Diana Lamplugh, after the disappearance of their daughter whilst going about her work as an estate agent, in order to campaign and work for ways of reducing violence and aggression in our society and to improve personal safety. Since then, the Suzy Lamplugh Trust has moved from being a small, family-run organisation to a highly professional and well-respected national charity. Its reach goes well beyond its small size: its advice and information are used by companies, public sector bodies, charities and individuals from all walks of life, and its views are sought by policy makers and decision makers.

We are specifically keen to hear from those with a background in the criminal justice profession or those with strong legal backgrounds.

We are looking for trustees with access to an established professional network, who can advise our growing organisation and support the development of our new strategy.

Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities are currently under-represented on our Board of Trustees and as such we would encourage applications from individuals within these communities.

We pay trustees' travel expenses and provide a full induction to the work of the charity.

The trustee we appoint to this role will be expected to attend four board meetings (held on a weekday evening in London, these will be held remotely in the current environment) and in addition, trustees are expected to attend around another four meetings or events per year.
