Job description
Location: This role is offered on an interim basis, 18 months initially. It is a hybrid role, offering a combination of being able to work remotely and working at our King Cross HQ. The RS Group is looking to recruit an interim Legal Counsel to join its small but dynamic legal team. This role will be primarily focused on assisting with a large integration project following the Group's acquisition of Distrelec. This will be a very varied project requiring the successful candidates to both drive forward actions within our remit and influencing and supporting the relevant stakeholders on those areas where we need to be involved. The successful candidate will have the support of a senior lawyer in the team, involved at a strategic level. Additionally, the role will support the business on a day-to-day basis, working on agreements with customers, stock and non-stock suppliers, group projects, data protection and other general queries. In all aspects of the role, getting to the heart of the issue and providing pragmatic advice and solutions will be key. There is also the potential to expand this role to support our French business for any candidates who are French nationals and/or fluent French speakers What you will bring to the role Qualified solicitor (ideally qualified in England and Wales or France) Post-qualification experience across a range of standalone commercial s and legal issues. Experience working across borders and cultures would also be an advantage Ability to build relationships with and influence a variety of stakeholders Ability to analyse and recommend solutions to legal issues. Balancing the need to minimise legal risk with the need to take commercial risks Enjoy being a team player, supporting the business in its day-to-day legal needs. Enjoy making the complex simple, with an excellent legal judgement and business mindset Ideally experience gained in-house Experience either working on an integration project or other projects which balance the needs of portfolio companies and Group would be an advantage but are not essential The integration and Group legal work will be conducted in English.
