The Opportunity

As a Legal Counsel at EDF Energy, you'll be part of our Governance and Legal Affairs Directorate, a vital force in shaping and managing our business. Your canvas will be the impactful projects that lead the charge in low carbon generation, including the Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C new nuclear power stations. These initiatives aren't just monumental in scale; they're at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. With locations in Bristol and London, this position also offers opportunities for travel within Europe.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a competitive salary range and a market-leading pension scheme, we offer a range of flexible benefits to support our people across all aspects of their lives.

Your rewards package includes a choice of benefits, such as electric vehicle leasing, enhanced parental leave, health insurance, discounts and employee pricing.

Flexible working means you can work from home (if you wish) and we’ll provide a suite of IT equipment to ensure that you can work remotely comfortably and effectively.

Emma Brown, Legal Counsel says “Since I have joined EDF I’ve really appreciated the focus on balancing the demands of the role with achieving a good work-life balance and fostering good mental health. Simple things like confirming that if you do not want to have your camera on in a video meeting, that is ok, or assurances that we can go to our supervisors with any personal issue we may be having. When I have worked particularly hard on a project involving working into the late hours, this has been reflected with flexibility elsewhere in the working week and my personal non-working time is respected.”

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, adjusting as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.
