We are currently seeking a Paralegal/Contracts Analyst to join the legal department to support with reviewing and drafting client contracts for The Economist Group’s various businesses in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), while working across a broad range of commercial and corporate matters in a fast-paced and highly collaborative business. In this role, you will assist with commercial contracts, global corporate subsidiary management, organizational and operational matters as well as other legal matters.


Accountabilities:
How you will contribute:
  • Reviewing and drafting of standard template contracts, such as amendments, non-disclosure, sponsorship and subscription, for select businesses
  • Maintaining and updating the Legal Contracts team’s contracts database, contracts manual and weekly tracker for contractual matters.
  • Various administrative responsibilities such as creating a cycle time report of the team’s contract management across the various businesses, assigning contractual matters to team members and tracking matters using the weekly contract tracker, This also includes confidential correspondence, other reports and documents.
  • Work closely with salespeople and business heads to review and prepare responses to tenders / RFPs and to train new team members on contracts processes and policies
  • Initiate, lead, and manage automation of reports and analyses
  • Managing commercial regulatory filings and deadlines
  • Performs duties such as filing, document preparation, redlining, document distribution (including coordinating and tracking signatures of physical and digital documentation)
Experience, skills and professional attributes:

Ideal skills and abilities for this role include:


  • Proven experience in a law firm or in-house setting, as a legal assistant or paralegal
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • Previous experience in Media/Entertainment a plus
  • Experience in commercial, corporate, or transactional highly preferred
  • Strong contract and project management experience highly desirable
  • Ability to work with a fast-paced global team
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize work and to respond to emails and other requests in a timely manner
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively within deadlines
