We are looking for a Legal Claims Officer with experience in the area of medical negligence and/ or personal injury law to join us in meeting growing demand. As part of the Business Unit, the Legal Team is involved in processing medical negligence legal claims, personal injury legal claims and Fatal Accident Inquiries as well as supporting Public Inquiries. The team works closely with NHS staff and also with solicitors at the NHS Central Legal Office (CLO) who act on behalf of NHS Tayside.
The Legal Claims Officer is a key role within the Legal Team. Working alongside the Legal Team Manager, you will be primarily responsible for identifying and undertaking a diverse range of in-house investigations and enquiries concerning legal claims. You will also be expected to support the Legal Team Manager in a range of activities involving the team.
Educated to degree level or with the relevant specialist paralegal qualification, you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail. A professional manner and strong interpersonal skills are vital with the ability to build and maintain good relationships with individuals at all levels.
You will, as is often required when working within a small team, have a very flexible approach.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
