Soloway Wright LLP is currently looking for a Legal Assistant (Litigation) with minimum five years of experience to work out of our Ottawa office, providing support to two associate lawyers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting correspondence and legal documentation including editing and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate external and internal communication including mail, e-mail, fax and telephone calls.
  • Address client inquiries and schedule appointments.
  • Maintain client files.
  • Prepare client files for closure and storage.
  • Preparation of accounts.
  • Preparation of mail and courier packages.
  • Coordinate and organize meetings, conference calls and maintain agendas (paper and e-calendars).
  • Coordinate travel arrangements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in executive administration or as a law clerk.
  • Minimum five years of experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Knowledge of ACL5, Prima Fact, and NetDocuments, an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional presentation.
  • Experience preparing and editing correspondence.
  • Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and relevant practice directions.
