QUALIFICATIONS:
- completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal program and/or Accounting Program courses is an asset but not required;
- minimum 1+ years of experience in an administrative assistant role;
- excellent command of the English language;
- ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of work;
- proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, LTSA, and BConline;
- attention to detail, self-motivated and ability to autonomously manage files;
- friendly and customer service-oriented with the ability to build and maintain relationships;
- experience in one or more of the following areas of law: real estate conveyancing, incorporating and maintaining privately held B.C. corporations;
-meticulously organized; and
-readily willing to take on new tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Cheque Processing: Process and prepare cheques for various legal transactions, including vendor payments, client disbursements, and other financial obligations.
Verify and reconcile supporting documentation. Ensure accurate allocation of funds and proper documentation.
2. Real Estate Reporting: Assist in finalizing, printing and reporting to clients, lenders and opposing counsel. Conduct research and compile information related to real estate transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with financial institutions and external parties to gather required documentation and facilitate smooth transactions.
3. Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintain organized records and filing systems for all financial transactions, real estate documents, and related correspondence.
Prepare reports and summaries regarding cheque processing and real estate activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information. Assist in monitoring and managing deadlines associated with cheque processing and real estate transactions.
