We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join a friendly and supportive team of 6 to help support the continued growth in our Commercial Disputes team. Previous experience in this role is not a necessity as our current team are made up of individuals from an array of backgrounds - Retail, Receptionists and Recent University Graduates with no prior experience. The successful individual will be somebody that has a keen desire to learn, has good organisational skills and is willing to 'roll up their sleeves' and get stuck in with the day-to-day challenges a busy and successful disputes team presents. Full training is provided, and the team will give you a warm welcome whilst you learn the skills required to do well. In short, as a Legal Administrator at Capital Law you’ll play a vital role in providing full secretarial, PA and administrative support to a team of fee earners.
Working within the Commercial Disputes team
We work exclusively on commercial disputes, helping businesses of all sizes – in all sectors – resolve issues that are stopping them from running as they should. We resolve all kinds of commercial cases, including business ownership disputes, insolvency & debt recover, intellectual property disputes, property disputes, public law & regulatory, insurance, and professional negligence.
Responsibilities
The below duties are some of the day-to-day responsibilities you would have once fully trained:
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems
- File opening/closing
- Support and coordinate client billing
- Minute taking, audio and copy typing
- Deal with emails/correspondence, calls and enquiries
- Photocopying and scanning documents
- Diary management, planning and organising meetings, travel and accommodation and lunches
- Work as part of the wider team to support a busy team of lawyers
Requirements:
- Administration experience desirable
- Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Commitment to proving excellent service
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritise a high-volume workload and work to deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing requirements and see opportunities for improvement
- Flexible ‘can do’ approach with the ability to work proactively, use own initiative and offer solutions
- Team-focus with a flexible and collaborative approach to working with others, but also able to work alone.
- Confidence to communicate with all levels in order to manage expectations and maintain effective working relationships.
- Able to work onsite – this role is based at our London office, so you will be required to be in 5 days per week, 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday
